"I WAS A LOYAL STATE FARM CUSTOMER FOR 6 YEARS — UNTIL NOW.

I had a great experience with State Farm for years, but unfortunately, that changed in August 2026. I have been insured with State Farm since 2020 and faithfully paid my premiums year after year, expecting that when I actually needed my insurance, the company would stand behind the coverage I was paying for.

In six years, I only filed claims in 2024, 2025, and 2026. The incidents were not the fault of either me or my sister, who is also on the policy. After we moved to a more populated city area, we experienced a few unfortunate incidents. That is exactly why people pay for insurance.

What has been extremely disappointing is how differently I felt I was treated once I actually needed to use my coverage. State Farm had no problem collecting my premiums for six years, but when claims were filed, I felt like I had to fight to receive the protection I had been paying for. One of my claims in 2024 was not paid, and now in 2026 I was faced with a $2,000 collision deductible.

I was also very disappointed with the repair process. When our vehicle was repaired, State Farm authorized second-hand or non-original parts. I was told that if I wanted genuine manufacturer parts, State Farm would only pay a certain amount and I would have to pay the difference myself.

After six years as a paying customer, this experience has completely changed my opinion of State Farm.

Insurance is easy to appreciate when all you are doing is paying the premium. The true test of an insurance company is what happens when a customer actually needs to use the coverage they have paid for.

LOYALTY SHOULD GO BOTH WAYS.

State Farm accepted my payments year after year. When I finally needed my insurance, I expected the same level of commitment from them that I had shown as a customer. Unfortunately, that is not how I feel I was treated.

I went from being a satisfied, long-term State Farm customer to seriously questioning whether my loyalty ever mattered. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering State Farm to carefully understand their deductibles, claims process, and policies regarding replacement parts before choosing or renewing coverage."
